about

Deep Ambient Drone, for listeners seeking submersion into beatless washes of spacey chill. Recommended if you like Coil, Brian Eno, Lustmord, Harold Budd, Steve Roach, Laraaji, Hammock, Locust.

Originally released Oct-Nov 2014. Re-mastered & re-issued by Ronin Janitor Records.

The Hermetic Order of Sleep Acoustics’ debut release was “lost” for some years, secreted away on a mis-labeled hard drive. The original digital kit and recordings were thought to exist only on backup media that had become corrupt. An attempted recreation of the sounds and atmosphere resulted in E23’s release _AE_ (2016 opho), crafted as part of a “beatless” ambient set performed that summer in the Boulder Canyon. Re-discovering the lost artifacts of _Lucid_ in 2023 provided the opportunity to re-master and re-issue this release in partnership with Ronin Janitor Records.

Originally a limited (25) CDr was distributed to attendees of a lecture and meditation session conducted by Dr. Eben Alexander and Karen Newell at the Mile High Church in Denver, CO. The release was included with complimentary copies of the Earth Harmony publication _We Are Spirit_ by Kenneth J. Comerford & Grayce Dian Comerford. The drones are structured similarly to the binaural hemispheric synchronization pioneered by Robert A. Monroe, and continued through Newell's work with Sacred Acoustics. Newell conducted a sonic meditation following Dr. Alexander's lecture on his neuroscientific views of his own near-death experience, further explored in his second book _Map of Heaven_
